About Jon Martin

jonWelcome, you’ve stumbled upon the website and online blog of Jon Martin, a 36 39 year old born in the UK, resident of the City of Derby and yes still the proud owner of all his own teeth!

I’ve been writing Scripts, Stories and Poetry since 1998 and tend to focus primarily on all that is dark, disturbing and ever so slightly twisted, well we all need a hobby don’t we!

I have self published Three Dark Poetry Anthology’s all currently available through Amazon (Velvet Death, Velvet Paradox and Velvet Dreams) and have also had several poems published in other collections. Most recently I’ve focussed more on Scriptwriting although I’m still trying to catch my break. Current works in progress also include a novel by the name of ‘Masonic Plague’ which I’ve recently co-written with my long time good friend Anthony D Redden.

I’m a huge fan of film, particularly Horrors, Sci-Fi’s, Epic Drama’s and anything with a twisted comical edge. You can often find me lurking around comedy gigs and when the opportunity arises I like a good rock out now and again too. My scariest weapon is my imagination and given three random words I could probably write the most deranged story you can think of, although thankfully for the worlds youth I’ve not quite taken to writing children’s books just yet.

For a writer I’m not the worlds greatest reader, I just seem to take far more enjoyment from being creative but some of my favourite authors include Daniel Easterman, Rob Grant, Doug Naylor and Douglas Adams.

Thanks for visiting and Rest Well…
